6 of the critters above were inspired by Sue Coccia from her coloring book "Polar Critters" (www.earthartinternational.com). I redrew the shapes of the animals and added my own patterns. The crow is mine and the coi fish were from a stencil.
Each of the small squares above are 3.5" X 3.5"
The squares below are 6" x 6" and are all made up by looking around the room I was in.
48 Piece Zentangle - Jill Ehlert
This Zentangle piece includes 48 separate zentangles. I used Stonehenge paper. I made all 48 tiles 3.5" X 3.5" square and drew this grid out on the sheet of paper. I drew a string over the entire surface so that there would be a relationship to each square. I numbered each tile and then cut them up. I picked each tile randomly to work on - I did not look to see what I had done before; the whole challenge was to work on each tile independent of what I had done before...the surprise and delight was in assembling them together at the end and seeing how the corresponded to their neighbor.

Biography
Sandy Steen Bartholomew is an illustrator, rubber stamp designer, mixed-media artist and Certified Zentangle Teacher.
Words that Sandy uses to describe her images include: "whimsical, colorful, bi-polar, anachronistic, silly, creative, and "pwitty". Inspirations include: ancient civilizations, rusty things, childrens' books, kid's artwork, toys, patterns, architecture and cereal boxes".
Sandy says her illustrations run the gamut from cartoony to realistic colored pencil and watercolor. The rubber stamp designs feature characters and props from her "Anachronistic Castle" line.
Sandy's real life studio space is called "The Belfry" which it is located above "Wingdoodle", her real life creativity store where she creates colourful & unusual painted furniture, stained glass, mixed media wall art, greeting cards, postcards and more.

"AlphaTangle - A Truly Tangled Alphabet" is an adorably teeny (4" square) book of alphabet letters created from Zentangle patterns. All the official Zentangle tangle/patterns have names and Bartholomew has created each letter from the patterns starting with those same letters. I discovered the art of Zentangle back in September and I have been hooked ever since, I introduced many of my friends and my sister to this neat art form and they are all hooked as well. They in turn have introduced their friends and family and the list goes on and on.
I love doing zentangles and I find it to be the most relaxing activity. I can take it with me and do it anywhere and find myself in bed at night doing this before I go to sleep. One friend also does it at bedtime and told me that she is having a better nights sleep. Sometimes when I am out and if I find myself in a stressful situation, I imagine doing one and almost instantly I am disengaged from the stress and start to relax.
